Today, this collection in two notebooks (composed in 1722 and 1744 respectively) occupies a prominent place in the history of music. In addition, it had a considerable influence on the young Mozart and Haydn. Prelude No. 1, BWV 846, is built on a succession of sixteenth notes where each measure is repeated, as indicated by the “%” symbol on the magazine score. In the left hand, think of this piece as a succession of chords. We recommend that you first work on the "imprint" of the chords on the neck before adding the left hand.
