Sicilienne, BWV 1031 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1686-1750) By Estelle Bertrand. Bach's BWV 1031 was originally written for flute and harpsichord. Its provenance being uncertain, some musicologists agree that this work could have been written, at least in part, by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Johann Sebastian's second son. We offer you here an arrangement of the Sicilienne, the second movement of this sonata which has three. The version we offer you is in A minor (original in G minor), a key particularly suited to the guitar because of the open strings.
